Chipeta Meadows is a small neighborhood located around a quiet cul-de-sac about 1 mile from downtown Salida. Chipeta Meadows borders the Salida soccer fields to the west and has direct access to the paved Salida Spur walking / biking trail, making getting downtown easy. All of the homes in the neighborhood are duplexes – so they share one wall, but have their own private yard and driveway. All of the homes have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and an attached 2 car garage and were built in the mid to late 1990’s. This is a great neighborhood if you’re looking for a newer home in the under $250,000 price range. There are some very basic covenants in Chipeta Meadows, you can find a link to these and read a little more about Chipeta Meadows at the bottom of this page…

Covenants – Chipeta Meadows (these don’t include a fence agreement and a few other documents – call or email if you need those and I’ll track them down…).
Chipeta Meadows gets it’s name from Chipeta, second wife of Chief Ouray of the Uncompahgre Ute tribe. The Uncompahgre Ute’s would spend summer’s in the Salida area. There is also Mt. Chipeta, a 12,775′ peak several miles west of Salida.
My parents, Chris & Helen Hawley, live in Chipeta Meadows.
The Cul-de-Sac in Chipeta Meadows is called Chipeta Trail. It’s not really a trail though, it’s a normal road.
There is no meadow in Chipeta Meadows.
Just to confuse people there is also a street in the nearby town of Poncha Springs named Chipeta Avenue. In fact, Salida and Poncha Springs share many street names, which must occasionally confuse ambulance calls and pizza deliveries.
